June Outing – Troop Reaches New Heights… on Horseback!
In June, the troop mixed things up a bit by adding a horseback riding outing into the mix. We went to Salt Creek Horse Ranch near Metamora, Indiana. Our guide led us though four fun hours of riding throughthe hills of beautiful southern Indiana while the scouts earned their horsemanship merit badge.
The Metamora Church of God allowed us to camp on their beautiful church grounds. (Pictured from the hilltop.) We were very thankful to have a large picnic shelter as it rained for thirteen hours on our second night of the outing.
On Saturday morning, the troop had some free time (and it was raining,) so we offered to assist the church with their food pantry. After working for a couple of hours, all of the food provided by Gleaner’s food bank was given away, so we headed back to the ranch for more riding adventure.
